I went here for 9th grade to make up credits I missed during middle school. The school helped me get all my credits and go to a real highschool. Unfortunately HD perry did not teach me anything , most of the work we did in class they told us to search up the answers on the computer and I never really learned anything. When I went back to a real school I felt completely confused in every class because HD perry Did not teach me anything. While I was going to HD perry apparently there was a “gang war” going on between 2 groups of students. I do not associate with anything like that so to be put in an environment like that I was very uncomfortable and didn’t feel safe. Most days of school were interrupted by students acting up in class , fights , and etc. The part that I dislike the most about the school is the unprofessional staff. While I was in HD Perry I always behaved my best never wanted to cause and trouble. One day after gym class I was hungry so I go to the vending machine to buy a snack. Im waiting in line after 3 kids are done using it and it’s my turn a random staff member yells at me that I cannot use the vending machine. She was standing by us the whole time while I was in the line and the other students used the vending machine. I told her I’m sorry and asked if I can use it quickly then I would go to class. Apparently me apologizing and asking to use it was disrespectful to her , so she took me to the office and told me to wait in a chair. About 40 minutes later the vice principal told me I was suspended for 2 days. I’m not sure if that lady didn’t like me or was having a bad day but I hope no other students get suspended for trying to get a snack when they are hungry. Overall I would only recommend going to this school if it’s going to be for 1 year only to make up credits you missed and get out asap. Sending your student here for several years will make their education a lot worse than the average student and put them in an environment with kids who are more worried about streets than school and their future.

I don’t even think this school deserves 1 star honestly this school is so unprofessional this is coming from a middle school academy student this school loves to blame everything on middle school when most of the time it’s high school I know middle school can be a handful but dang we don’t be doing worst then the high school kids most of the staff protect the high school kids because they have favoritism and the administrators don’t care also they just wanna send you home with a referral and in school suspension the next day and they kicked some of the teachers out because they didn’t have enough student even though they knew a lot more students were coming they got academy students so packed up in the classroom they had to put more chairs and tables in the class room. Most of the teachers don’t do nothing give us textbooks and paper and tell us to answer the questions in the book or tell us to go on the computer, the teachers they kicked out was the ones actually teaching us students, now you tell me weather or not this school is a good place for your child. We’re at the end of the school year, we only got 2 more weeks left in school and we now starting in semester 2. You can’t see in the grade book to see what you missing into they mail it to you. Some of the staff are messy and like starting drama with the students. This school is always on lockdown or hold. Then they’re cutting trees during school hours while students are trying to walk to their next class which is a safety hazard. I have gotten bullied in the school and told administrators and they did nothing about it, but tell them to say sorry and go to class. This is my statement of this school and this will be my last year here never again.

The ladies who work in guidance are immature and childish the Attitudes are for what if they did not want to work there, why be there a bunch of black ppl over playing there jobs I see why the kids are like that but they friendly with the kids but has and attitude with the parents Mr. Jackson was very nice and helpful. The red chick at the front desk had an extremely bad/nasty attitude it's a shame with all the bad reviews. This place is still operating someone. Please call 911 or the BBB

Deeply Disappointed with Henry D. Perry - Consider Alternatives

I am compelled to share our extremely disappointing experience with Henry D. Perry. From the beginning, the enrollment process was frustratingly slow and poorly communicated, taking almost half a year before my son could start his classes. This significant delay not only set him back academically but also left us in the dark, with me having to continuously seek updates and arrange basic necessities like transportation, which was equally chaotic.

During our interactions with the school, the professionalism and empathy we expected were consistently absent. Staff attitudes, particularly in handling inquiries and providing support, were often negative and demoralizing, contributing to a discouraging atmosphere for both students and parents. This was evident even in casual interactions, where the tone and manner did not foster respect or encouragement.

Furthermore, the manner in which teachers and staff communicate is often degrading and disrespectful, showing a complete disregard for fostering a supportive educational environment. Despite multiple attempts, none of our concerns have been addressed in a timely or professional manner, adding to the overarching sense of neglect.

Based on our experience, I would urge parents to consider other educational institutions. Henry D. Perry has proven to be a disaster for us, failing to uphold the basic standards of respect and care necessary for a positive educational journey.

This school is not for anyone besides pregnant teens and they use it as there daycare. While they find there next teen father and get the benefits of being pushed along since there barely there. The counselors have a soft spot for the teen moms more than they care about us regular students. The teacher act more like babysitters and barely teach. Most of the kids can't read and cheat off one another to get ahead. If you wanna set your kids up for failure send them here. They only care about making a profit off you then actually being a place of learning.

Was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. A teacher I dont know the name of tried to fight me when I cursed at her for yelling at me for no reason. Mr smart is the worst teacher I have ever had did not do anything to actually teach and if he did it was 6th grade math when I was in geo. I was scared to ask questions because every time I did he would yell at me or not help me. Another teacher singled me out because i talked less and would yell at me to put my phone away but would say nothing to nobody else. Just do flvs DO NOT COME HERE. If I could give zero stars I would.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration with the quality of education and the overall incompetence exhibited by the staff at Henry D Perry School. My experience with this institution has been nothing short of disappointing, and I feel compelled to take legal action to address these severe shortcomings.

From the very beginning, it was evident that the school lacked the necessary infrastructure and resources to provide a conducive learning environment.

Moreover, the incompetence displayed by the staff was truly alarming. Teachers frequently displayed a lack of subject knowledge, leading to inadequate instruction and a failure to adequately challenge students academically. The administrative personnel demonstrated a lack of professionalism and were often unresponsive to concerns and inquiries, leaving parents and students feeling ignored and frustrated.

Given the severity of these issues, I believe it is necessary to take legal action to address the incompetence and negligence exhibited by Henry D Perry School and its staff. The actions and inactions of this institution have not only compromised the quality of education but also put the students at risk. It is essential that swift and decisive measures be taken to rectify these grievances and ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all students.
